news log #15

A 20-year-old girl living in New York is from varying races, including Cherokee, Shawnee, Chinese, and Cuban. However, on federal documents, she is listed as Cuban. She says herself that on papers she marks "Other" because either her races aren't listed or she can only mark one. More and more today, federal documents are listing different races or letting people mark more than one race, and personally I believe that it's both accommodating and great.
